Central
to the patented design is the mounting clamp. This clamp is fixed
to the frame of the bike, to this the fully adjustable
side plates, seat and leg guards are mounted. As a general rule,
if you can fit the mounting clamp to your bike , you can fit the
Bike Tutor.
How To
Fit the Bike Tutor

Attach
the frame clamp using the 2 U clamps and 4 8mm nuts. Do not over
tighten the clamp as this could cause damage to your bike, we advise
that your firstly find the correct position for the Bike Tutor
and only when satisfied should the main clamp be tightened enough
to prevent the seat form moving no more.
Attach
the 2 adjuster plates to the clamp using 2 fasteners on each side.
Choose a position that enables the seat unit to sit on top of the
crossbar, and close to the handlebar stem.
Using
2 fasteners on each side attach the seat unit. We advise that you
firstly fit the single forward fastener (Shown) then raise the
seat to a level position before fitting the second fastener. In
this way the Bike Tutor can be fitted to a range of bikes with
different angles while providing your child with a solid, level
secure seat.
Fit the
leg protectors positioning them so that they do not touch or
effect the forks or the correct turning of the front wheel. At
a later stage we advise that you adjust the leg shields forwards
or backwards to suite your child.

When
your happy with the position of the Bike Tutor and have thoroughly
checked the clearances between the bike Tutor and the front
wheel and handlebars, tighten all bolts and fasteners.
With your
child seated on the Bike Tutor check the height of the footplates.
Remove your child then raise or lower the foot plates to the preferred
height for your child. To change the plates, simply remove from
one side, invert and fit to the other side using the 3 fasteners
provided.
Finally
fit the child steering bars to the top of the handlebars. ensure
that once fitted they do not effect the correct operation of the
controls. |
